Paid a visit to the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, keen to see The Sense of Sight in it’s home gallery, having only seen it before while on loan for the 2018 Painting Light and Hope exhibition in Manchester. The painting is indeed there, over a doorway (and very slightly crooked to my eye). A shame it is so high up, making it harder to appreciate the fine detail and it suffers a bit from light reflections, but all the same good to see it back in it’s home of over 125 years.
Both Liverpool and Manchester galleries really are world class (and only £6 apart on the train), with many remarkable exhibits, so well worth a visit at any time.
