“Isabel Dacre, a student from England, was associated with Julian’s atelier [private workshop] on two different occasions: in 1878-1879, when she completed this study; and later from 1884 to 1888, when she completed several works that gained her entry to the Salon” (Weisberg & Becker, 1999).
