A previously unrecorded and early work by Susan Isabel Dacre, dated 1875, is for sale by auction at Von Zengen Kunstauktionen, Bonn, Germany, 22 November 2025. It is titled “Portrait einer Frau mit Ohrringen” or ‘Portrait of a Woman with Earrings’.

For this web site I’m using the title ‘Portrait of an Italian woman‘, on the basis that it is likely the “cleverly-executed painting of an Italian girl” exhibited at the Yorkshire Exhibition of Arts and Manufactures, Leeds, 1875 (according to The Yorkshire Post and Leeds Intelligencer, 25 Sep 1875, p6, although it is not listed in the actual catalogue, perhaps being a late entry after catalogue publication).

This brings the number of works by Susan Isabel Dacre known by image to forty-four. The full page for the work is here.
