  • Description: “View of the hill town of Siena, looking up toward the clustered, haphazard buildings around central church which marks the pinnacle of the hill. The houses are coloured in rustic tones orange, white and red, a road runs up the side of the hill lined with houses. A second spire is visible in the distant background” (Manchester Art Gallery).

    • 1880s?/1901 – According to notice by painting while on display at Manchester Art Gallery 2018-2019, butt very similar to S. Isabel Dacre’s version which is dated 1901.
    • 1936 – “Louisa Mary Garrett bequest, 1936” [sister-in-law of Dame Millicent Garrett Fawcett] (Manchester Art Gallery).
    • 2018-2019 – Exhibited Manchester Art Gallery, 23 Feb 2018 to 6 Jan 2019.
  • Location: Manchester Art Gallery.

The view is of the Duomo di Siena (Siena Cathederal) from the NW. Both Annie and Isabel painted similar scenes. Annie’s version is undated, but the similarity between suggests they are contemporary.
