▲ “L. Pilkington / Firwood, Alderley Edge.” Firwood was the home of the Pilkington family from 1943 into the 1960s. Isabel painted the daughters of Lawrence and Mary ‘Mollie’ Pilkington in 1900.

▲ At the head of this label – very feint – is the Manchester City Council coat of arms with the words “CITY OF MANCHESTER ART GALLERY” below.
