  • Title(s): A Forest Nymph (this web site, translated from 2015 Spanish auction title, ‘Ninfa del bosque’); assumed to be the same work as The Wood Nymph, exhibited Manchester 1888.
  • Description: Three-quarter pastel portrait, head and shoulders, young woman with ivy leaves in her hair, clothed/drapes to neck line.

    • 1888 – The Wood Nymph “Sold last evening at Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, annual exhibition, held at the Corporation Art Gallery, Mossley Street for £21” (Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser, 24 Feb 1888).
    • 2015 – Auctioned Isbilya Subastas, Seville, Spain, 21 Jan, lot 14, “Ninfa del bosque”, sold: hammer £191.
