A sketch by Annie was recently for sale at Lorfords Antiques, Tetbury, Gloucestershire. Thanks to Grant Waters’ work combing through old copies of Royal Academy Illustrated and forwarding images, the painting can be identified as April’s Lady, exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, 1933, and appears to be completely unaltered.

A work titled ‘April Lady‘, perhaps the same, was exhibited at the Woman’s International Exhibition, Earl’s Court, in 1900. Annie was on the Honorary Sub-Committee of that exhibition. Lorfords suggest a date of c. 1890 for their piece, which might fit if the Earl’s Court painting was indeed one in the same, although stylistically it is more characteristic of her post-1900 works.
