The portrait depicts Margaret Pirie Scott-Elliot (née Evans, 1868-1951), wife of Colonel Adam Scott-Elliot, and their two daughters Aline Margaret and Isabel Louisa. The family had homes in London and Norfolk, where this portrait was painted.” (Notice by painting at Manchester Art Gallery.)

The plaque on the picture is incorrect. Annie was born in 1844, not 1845.
