This is a work is an almost exact copy of a painting by Pietro Vannucci, known as ‘Perugino.’ The fresco was originally painted in the portico of the church of Saint Francis di Monteripido, Perugia (a city in central Italy, 80 miles/130 km north of Rome), c. 1504. The fresco is now housed in the Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria, Perugia.
